Quality music comes and goes in waves… and after a “wave” of mediocre music, it appears that maybe the tide is turning. (Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” is easily my favorite pop song of the summer – thus far) But I’m tired – its been a big week and it’s only wednesday… so without further ado:

Use Me – Tijon - This song is hot. It’s been on repeat in my apt – dancing around with my pinot as I attempt to cook and clean. its funky… i’m into it.

Funky Hit Records (feat. Lyrics Born) [EOM Remix] - RockPaperScissors - DOWNLOAD THIS. Trust me. It’s old-school but high energy and I can’t get enough (and get the entire mix-tape here – its worth the download)

Change (feat. Daniel Merriweather and Wale) [Remot Remix] – RockPaperScissors - the original is one of my favorite songs – and this remix gives the song a different feel… i like it

How Low (DJ Philistine Shine On Remix) – Ludacris This is easily my favorite electro/rap mash-up in recent memory. It automatically puts me in a good mood. No easy feat.

Hot Toddy - Usher feat. Jay-Z & Ester Dean – Off the Usher’s upcoming release Versus -

The Eyes of the Tiger – Wale He’s BACK and rapping about tiger! Love Wale and I’m really happy he’s making music… wait about a minute for the song to start.

Just the Way You Are – Bruno Mars - I am really into this. Maybe it’s because in the past few months I have been enjoying being in love (go ahead, groan and roll your eyes – I’ll wait,) but this song is undeniably catchy. Bruno Mars has a really unique voice (he provides the vocals on B.o.B’s “Nothing on You”) and this is supposedly the first single of his debut LP. It’s upbeat, summery and I really like it.

Every Time You Go – Ellie Goulding - Download this. seriously. If you haven’t been paying attention to Ellie Goulding, I suggest you start. She has a haunting voice (remember her off Chiddy Bang’s “Under the sheets”?) and I find myself dancing around my apartment to this….

The Writer – Ellie Goulding – this song is also really worth a download. Get it before she blows up and all of her music gets taken down

Destiny (Fred Falke remix) – Zero 7 - speaking of haunting vocals, the orignal “destiny” was the song that turned me on to Sia a million years ago. I love the original and this remix is nice – get it.

Breathe Me – OnCue - The original “Breathe Me” by Sia has got to be one of my top 20 songs of all time – I have been in love with her vocals since hearing her on Zero 7′s “Destiny” when I was in middle school. At first I was really unhappy song- specifically about the… manipulation of her voice. OnCue has nice voice and isn’t a bad rapper at all… but for the first minute I thought that original was completely butchered. But I changed my mind. Trust me and wait for 1 minute in… and then wait for the second time the hook drops. The xylophone is still haunting… and now it’s on repeat.
